Business calls to your mobile the easy way

Receive inbound non-geo calls to your mobile or landline

Using a low-cost non-geographic number is a great way to increase conversions on your website, providing a low rate number for your site visitors to call, regardless of their location or device. The new 03 numbers are particularly good for mobile website visitors, as the calls to these numbers are usually included in the contracted minutes and do not cost the caller anything extra.

This also means you can direct these inbound business calls to any telephone number you want, mobile or landline, without having to display it publicly on the internet. So you’re no longer tied to your desk or office, take your business calls while out and about or even at the beach 😀

The quickest, easiest and cheapest way I have found to set up a non-geographic telephone number which routes calls to my mobile or landline, is by utilising the fantastic platform provided by Twilio. Once you have created an account and registered your non-geo telephone number, simply follow the steps below to start receiving inbound calls to any active phone number of your choice.

Set up inbound only non-geo call routing

    1. Navigate to TwiML Bins
    2. Add a bin and paste the below code in the main field
    3. Replace +NN-NNNN-NNNNNN with your destination number
    4. Give it a friendly name like “forward” and save
    5. Now go to Manage Numbers and set it up as pictured below

Inbound Call Forwarding

That’s it you should be good to go! Call your new non-geographic number from a different phone and check that you can answer and maintain a call on your mobile network connection or existing landline.

NB. If you don’t have a mobile signal, you can’t receive calls routed to your mobile number.
